The Anderson Home

We moved into the house last week and have been in love. We can't believe how much space we have. Emry has a favorite cupboard that he climbs inside and closes the door and plays peek-boo with us. He likes to check out every single one to find out what's inside. He's never been allowed in the kitchen before so it's a new adventure for him. I love how much counter space I have to cook with and prep with. However it's very weird to have to take about 8 steps to get across my kitchen where before I took one and turned and I was there.
We've also had to get used to stairs. My legs are a little sore from going up and down all day long. I try to minimize it as much as possible. In the last blog I was frustrated about missing items and I finally found them. The remotes fell out of the door I hid them in and were underneath the drawer. Thank goodness. I left on Wednesday to head to Utah price match and find the best deals on items that we needed right away in the house like blinds. It was a good thing too since at home depot here it would have been about 570 for blinds and I spent 380 at Lowes in Utah. BIG DIFFERENCE! I also found a kitchen table and chairs, a dresser and nightstands for Emry's room when he needs them, a sofa table, some end tables and a 4 poster bed for my room. They are all projects for me so It'll be some time before they show up on here. We also ended up getting a new couch because it was cheaper then buying a love seat to match the couch we had. So now our couch is for sell if anyone needs one please let me know. It was 700 new and it's a year old and selling it for 300. We're also selling a Samsung, stainless steal side by side with water and ice Refridgerator. We haven't decided on a price yet but somewhere around 600.

Our first project we did this weekend was tackle the downstairs blinds and we tried out the paint design we chose on the half bath. Though we have to redo it because we didn't use a primer on the counters it's a good start. It needs touched up and we hadn't decided if we were going to do doors so that's why the jamb isn't painted yet. But we loved out it turned out so we can't wait to do the rest of the house. Once I go get the primer for the cupboards of course.

Yes we did...

We closed on friday morning. It took forever and we signed our name more in that two hours than we have in our entire lives. What fun!. Anyway we moved that day and we're officially dead! We are very sore and and have a good portion of our house done. So far we're missing one bag which had emry's bedding and other things in it and of course our REMOTES!!! not kidding but EVERY single time we have moved which is about five times since we've been married we have lost a remote. This time we lost 2! I am so frustrated! I have looked in every single box over and over again and they are no where to be found. We only have about five boxes not unpacked so there aren't a lot of places they could be. I just done understand the remote black hole we have looming around us. Insane.
Devin has already fixed the bookcase that was broken a year ago. Just needed a house to convince him to fix it. He's painted my pantry to see if we like what we picked for colors. So far it loolks good. We got Emry's bed rigged up so it will no longer leave guages in the wall when Emry shakes the heck out of the crib. He's funny. We go curtians up last night in our rooms so we could attempt to sleep past the sunrise. It worked a little better. Other than that I cooked our favorite breakfast(Hovik Family Tradition) this morning and Emry loved it but didn't eat too much. He was still tired even though he just woke up.
I'll keep you updated on the development of our house but for now I have a test to study for so another week......

Counting the Seconds

We're supposed to close tomorrow at 9am........................I don't quite believe it yet. I've been cleaning and packing and working for days. I'm so excited. Except......everyone forgets that there's still lots of work AFTER we move like oh say UNpacking lol. Devin forgot. Funny man. I can't WAIT!!!!

Closer and Closer

We got word that our loan has been secured. PHEW! I have been so upset, cranky, sick and had so much anxiety about all this house stuff. We're still waiting on the outside stuff to be done like the fence, and fixing the AC because they put it on the wrong side of our house. So once that's done we get to close and move! I hope they hurry we only have seven days til we have to be our of the apt. Everything is still crazy. I haven't been able to finish my two cleaning projects because of weather and sickness but hopefully I'll be able to knock them out tonight and tomorrow so I won't have any more stress except the house. At least for a week until I start the next project. Devin is still working away with Fedex and getting ready to take over the business. He's always asking about snowmobiles and trying to convince me why I should let him get another/new/whatever one. Annoying.

Why does Nothing ever work out right?

We're still playing the waiting game. We were originally told April 9th on our house and today is what the 20th? We keep getting the run around and different excuses and reasons why this or that hasn't happened. We're cutting it entirely way too close. I guess the type of loan we have is running out of money at the end of this month so our bank wanted to be closed last week to guarantee that we got the house. And guess what!! Yup there's no end in sight I swear. We're waiting on the fence, and AC to be put in which can't until the city approves the grade on the house which apparently they have a problem with and might make them put in a retaining wall. LA LA LA LALA BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH. So we have ten days to get this crap fixed before we have to place to live. Which in my pessimistic thoughts will be me living in my car. UGH I HATE REAL ESTATE and NEW CONSTRUCTION!!!! ugh
ok I've vented I guess

The only other things going on is Emry is loving being outside. He puts his shoes on and his monkey backpack and will go to the front door and bang on it and whine to be let outside to go out our daily (three) walks. It's so much fun. He runs around and yells and points and bends down and puts his hands on his knees and giggles. Man I have an awesome kid! I'm doing more cleaning right now but should be finishing up this building in the next couple days. I have two more weeks on my class that I am in. Then a week break before my next class. Then I have another building of 24 units to clean. That one's gonna be crazy!!! Then lots to do on my hopeful house.

Ryan Deen Edwards

I became an Auntie for the 3rd time Last night :)
He was 7 pounds 11 ounces and 20 inches long.

The name they kind of decided on before he was born(they didn't find out the gender) was Remy. Which is super stinking cute for a girl and okay for a boy. But that the letters and switch them around and you got Emry! So we'd have Avery, Emry and Remy. All boys. I don't think so. Anyways they changed their minds and today told us that his name is Ryan Deen Edwards. Which I love!!! It's very cute and so him. The Deen part came from my father's mother. She passed away a few months ago and her name was Ardeen. So they took the deen part. So perfect! Anyway, I don't get to meet this bundle of love for a few months. I can't believe that she didn't have a girl! Now we have three boys and 1 girl. Pressure's on me now to have a girl. OH NO!!!!

There's another post below

Picture Updates

About 2 weeks before Emry turned 1 he learned to walk! I was so happy and it was so much fun to watch him get better and better and now the little man just runs EVERYWHERE!!! I think it's funny that everyone at the stores will ask me how old and I respond that he just turned one. They then ask if he's walking and I say of course. They then think its funny to say, " oh man he's a handful now, into everything." I smile and nod and think not at all. He gets into less now because when he crawled he always tried to get under the bed and in random place. However this last few days I have eaten my words. He now climbs! There are video's at the bottom. Now I laugh at myself everytime someone makes that joke.
This is Emry eating is birthday Cupcake at his birthday party that we had in Utah.
Emry's Friends Lincoln and Cade is in the background. Its the only one I have of Cade. I'm sad.

Emry, Lincoln and Daddy checking out the Awesome new book! Now who's more bald??? LOL JK!!

I just love this picture. Devin's all happy and laughing. Emry's staring at Char trying to figure out who she is and Lincoln had his tongue out thinking he's going to taste the book to see if it's good enought. I LOVE IT!

Emry very happy with his cousin Tili. She gave him a hair brush and he LOVES to brush his hair!

Emry's Cake

Emry and Daddy Dressing up Cowboy style
Progress on our House

Outside is freshly painted. I didn't like the color at first but it's set and not faded but it's not as dark anymore. I love it now.
Back of our house

Progress on our Kitchen. It'll look so much different after we get everything done to it after we move in.

This is our front entry. I love the arch and the little alcove by the door. We just got carpet in so all the trim work and finish hasn't been done yet.
Oh I guess I should tell a bit more about our house. We're supposed to be closing in the next two weeks. The house is 3 bd 2.5 bath. 1388 square feet. When it's finished it'll be fenced in the backyard. We'll be doing the front yard this summer. Our first project will be painting the inside of the house so you'll get to see before and after pictures. Other than that we're very excited about having so much freaking space!!!!

So here's a story. Any chance he gets, Emry will get into a drawer, or a laundry basket when I'm not paying attention. I'll hear a scream of delight and this is ALWAYS what I find. He loves to put things on. He wants to dress himself. It just happens to always be my bra's or garments that he finds to put over his head. So here's a couple picture of him in my sports bras. Devin can't wait to use these pictures as blackmail when he's a teenager dating.

So Happy!

This video is Emry running around after a diaper change. He wouldn't let me button his pants and then I couldn't stop laughing because he looked like a girl from the 1800's that had the big thing under her dress to make it balloon out. Why can't I remember that name right now?

BAD BOY!

Emry doing what he's not supposed to. This has made my life 100 times harder because these bins have been our baby gates. We DESPERATELY need to be into our house!

So this is our Easter Day this Year. I made cookies the day before and Devin pounded them down before the weekend was over. In the video Emry show's off his fabulous eggs and his dancing skills and his random Lollipop finger thing that he just did on his own. I think it's hilarious!

This picture is Emry sitting in his new(but very very old) highchair. It's one of the things we inherited from my grandparents. My aunt who is now 42, sat in this chair. That's how old it is! Anyway the point of the picture is to show you what I'm living in now. If you look at pictures and videos above you'll be able to see what my apartment used to look like and now it looks like a garge. This is what's supposed to be the dining room. HAHA can you find it?
